Hour Meter Reading Procedure

After reviewing various warranty claims, and talking with service technicians, I am finding that there seems to be some confusion on how to properly read the hours on Hy-Brid machines.

Custom Equipment uses a combination Hour/Volt Meter on our Hy-Brid lifts. This meter is located in the lower control panel, next to the key switch. When the key is turned on, and both e-stop buttons are pulled up, the display you are seeing is battery voltage.

There are 2 ways to get this meter to flash to hours. The first way is to remove the upper control from the railing and set it on the platform floor. Now you will be able to see the meter while squeezing the enable trigger on the joystick. Squeeze the enable trigger and continue to hold it (about 10 seconds) until the meter switches from volts to hours. The hours will display for about 2 seconds and then switch back to volts.

The second way, the one I prefer, is to simply turn off the key. When the key is turned off, the hours will flash briefly before the meter goes blank. You may have to turn the key on and off several times to get the reading, but it is still much faster than the first method of squeezing the joystick enable trigger.
